#20 - Play a song on the radio.
I guess that means we can cross it off the list.

Went on CBC radio this morning. The call came at 6 am. Let’s just say we weren’t totally prepared… Dave raps - http://www.cbc.ca/earlyedition/

Also made ‘The Province’ with Lord Stanley:

Lord Stanley and Two Long Lost Relatives

Filed Under: Uncategorized, helping out — Barry De'Lyfe @ 11:50 pm

Wowza! Crazytimes are following us everywhere. The Stanley Cup found us in Kamloops and we welcomed it with open arms. Needless to say, we all got along great. Maybe a fifth member? Even if she doesn’t come with us, #38: Kiss The Stanley Cup is off the List!!

stanley cup.2

As we were leaving the arena where the cup was being shown, we noticed a mother and son straining to see in through the tinted windows trying to get a glimpse of the cup. Hundreds of fans had shown up to the arena that morning and lined up for blocks to get a chance to meet the Cup but unfortunately, these two where stopped short and told that no one else was going to be able to see Lord Stanley. We talked with the mother/son duo and found out that it was their lifetime dream to meet the Stanley Cup, and they were devastated…

We put our heads together and with a little ingenuity, we managed to arrange a one-on-one meeting with Lord Stanley and NHL legend Mark Recci in the zamboni area of the arena. The two were awestruck.

A Night with Zombie

Filed Under: Blogroll, helping out, list — Barry De'Lyfe @ 10:40 pm

So, while in Vancouver, we managed to pick up 6 free tickets to the Rob Zombie concert while on a local radio show.  Fully stoked and decked out in way too many fake tattoos, we cruised down to the concert in our trusty R.V. (Bedadu) and spotted a motley crew of skater punk-rockers crossing the street at East Hastings.  We pulled a U-turn and asked them if they liked Rob Zombie… turned out that not only were they fans of Zombie, but none of them had ever been to a live concert before…

When we asked the dudes if they wanted to come with us, they thought we were joking and almost walked away… but after we finally convinced them the tickets were legit, we all piled into the R.V. and made it to the concert just in time to knock some heads in the mosh-pit for the encore.  They  couldn’t believe it and had an awesome time… Dave and I almost died in  the mosh-pit.  All around, it was a great night.

The Buried Life Tour - first days

Whats up everyone!
We have begun our whirlwind tour across b.c. and it has been nothing less than a whirwind. We will have pictures up in the near future, but for now, here are a few highlights:

-Kicked a field goal with Lui Passaglia yesterday at B.C. Place before the Lions played the Eskimos; found out what Lui wants to do before he dies. The Buried Life Squad hooked up for a touchdown pass which included a Jerry McGuire celebration dance.

-Stopped 4 guys on East Hastings in Vancouver, gave them all tickets to Rob Zombie and moshed with them in the front row.

-Interviewed a man who has looked death straight in the eye, didn’t blink, cleared his throat, and then talked to us about how his “List” has changed.

-Sent ‘Scott’ from ‘Victoria’, a guy who has always dreamed of flying, on a date with a parachute and 10,000 feet of freefalling bliss!

-Started a 30,000 people wave at B.C. Place and may or may not have been booed in the process.

-Young Diego dreamed to be a Knight, and he is now Sir Diego, Knight of the Causeway.

-Chatted with Kiprios of Sweatshop Union and got a taste of “100 things to do before you die” as a freestyle.

-check the successful completion of ‘List item #23: Make the front page of the newspaper’ at: http://www.canada.com/victoriatimescolonist/news/capital_van_isl/story.html?id=1d1c9337-271a-4fdb-bba5-a04515668999

-Have talked with 23 people, helped 11, so far about what they have always dreamed of doing and what it means to live a buried life.

The Tour continues…!!

Paul Learns to Fly!

The day before we left on our first Tour, we hit the streets in Victoria to ask people the question, ‘what do you want to do before you die?’ for the very first time… We received a smorgasbord of responses, everything from ’start a family’, to ‘learn how to change a flat tire’ to ‘travel and make a difference in India’.

Then we asked Paul, a young pedi-cab driver and his response was, “I want to feel what it’s like to fly”.  Finally!  Someone we might be able to help (that’s right, none of us know how to change a flat tire).  So, we called up Victoria Skydive Adventures and after 1/2 hour on the phone, we were able to get Paul a free pass to fly with the birds.

He jumped from a plane 10,000 feet above ground and experienced a free fall for 32 seconds – said it was the ‘biggest rush of his life.’  Oooooooooooooooh man!

Tour Begins!

Media everywhere, tourists and visitors from around the globe and the whole scene is focused on us. The Knight costume blew people away and Ben had a touching moment with a little kid name Diego, whose dream, funnily enough, was to meet a knight and get knighted.

Sir Diego - changing the world one step at a time.
