Why does the world think that "#100: Go To Space" won't happen?

What is it? Why is this 'too impossible'? 

We were told when this all started in 2006 that "#1: Open the Six O'Clock News" wouldn't happen because of X, X and X. That is without even considering the other X, X and X reason that the lady forgot to mention. So we had six major reasons, major obstacles that were going to stop us from even coming close to achieving that dream. Well #1 has been off the list for months and I have had a lot of time to consider what is and isn't possible these days. I could give you a whole host of historic examples of men and women coming from nothing, literally nothing, to success so wild and full that they would be remembered for all of time. That kinda thinking works for some, but to convey my thoughts on the issue I would like to steer away from figures and look instead at people, regular people.

Everyone in your life, at the hospital, on TV, at school, in the paper, is a regular person. Astronauts are regular people. So instead of thinking of all the ways "Go To Space" or "Date that Girl" or "Reach that goal" won't happen, ask yourself: "How could it happen?" Now the Xs are on the other side of the equation. That's the way astronauts think about it (and us too). This mentality forces you to get creative and respond to opportunity instead of denying it. If you've never tried, give it a shot.  You'll be suprised what comes about..

A voyage to space is as likely as anything else on the list. Regular people achieve extraordinary things everyday. Instead of focusing on the Xs, or the obstacles, think about how your dream could potentailly come out.. and then go for it. Besides if you never try, you never know. Take a moment to ponder what mark you would like to leave on the world. Write it down and give yourself a chance.
