For any of us that were once children, and for many of us that still are, last Tuesday was a dream come true.
It was in a discussion with Jeff and Trudy (the woman we met fighting stage-4 ovarian cancer) that Jonnie asked, “What can we do to make a difference? What can we do to help people suffering from cancer?” To which Trudy replied, “If you ever meet a child with cancer, from the second you meet them to the time you say goodbye, give them a chance to be normal kids, allow them to forget for one moment that they do not have this disease. Give them a chance to be children and give their parents a chance to see this.”
The conversation with Trudy affected all of us and it was soon after this discussion that we got in touch with the Children’s Cancer Lifeline in Seattle. #71 on our list is “Take Kids on a Shopping Spree” and we wanted to do it with the kids Trudy was talking about. As it turns out, Levis, who loved what we were up to so much they’ve been helping us out with this year’s Tour, extended their support with a substantial grant to the Childrens Cancer Lifeline for not only the shopping spree, but also for food, gas and other necessities for the families of these brave kids!
big thanks to Levis for the continued support and generous donation to the kids & their families
And so it came to this: a big empty Toy’s R US, four small kids & four big kids, all standing at the gate and then bang… the shopping spree begins! Racing hot wheels down aisles, crashing remote control cars and getting buried by stuffed animals. It was like being in Neverland with more toys and less pirates. No one stopped smiling for the whole afternoon.
I can honestly say that I will remember this for the rest of my life. For it was in this moment that everything was finally simplified. There was no movie, no media, and no responsibilities - there were only 8 kids living their dreams and living exactly in the moment.
We cant thank you guys enough for letting us come along with you for that afternoon - you guys have inspired us to keep fighting for a lifetime. -TBL crew

Cool guys! Very, very cool!

Wouldn’t it be great if the guys posted a contact name and an email for someone @ Levi’s, so we can write them and tell them how much we appreciate them helping TBL to cross off #71 on the list.
And don’t forget to tell those corporate folks u own a pair or three of Levi’s!
