Adrian lives in Seattle and we met him the day we took the kids from the Cancer Lifeline on the shopping spree at Toys R Us. He’s 17 and has been fighting different manifestations of cancer for a long while now. He’s a super cool kid who used to play a lot of sports but recently has been held back from activity due to his illness. When I talked with him, I struggled to put myself into his shoes. Here’s someone just like me, a guy who used to play basketball, who grew up running around as a kid but now, instead of fighting other teams, he’s fighting for his health…everyday. I would do anything to give him the gift to be able to play sports again, so when we found out he had never seen an NBA game, the least we could do was find him some tickets.
With the help of the SuperSonics, we were able to get him 4 tickets to go check out his 2nd favorite team, Houston play Seattle on Jan.23rd.
Make sure you send us pics after the game Ade! Keep fighting. -ben
