In other news: “Learn How To Play an Instrument” is #23 on the list. So far, we’re about halfway to crossing it off. Duncan is learning how to play guitar and I (Jonnie) am learning how to play the piano. Dave and Ben are still looking for their instrument of choice. Any recommendations?
what do you want to do before you die?
I decided in January that #101 on the list should be “Play in a Band.” So, I started a band. We’re called bikini and we make melodramatic pop music for teenagers and people with schoolyard crushes.
We just did a remix of Feist’s 1,2,3,4 too. Check it out HERE
The trailer from our first days on the road has just been posted on the front of YouTube.com!! We’re stoked! For all you that are new to The Buried Life, here’s the deal:
we’re still going, harder than ever
we drove around the states last year, in a big purple bus we call Penelope
I’m proud to say that I made these muffins. With a couple phone calls to mom and some tips from other pro bakers, I hit the kitchen. I started with flour, bananas, choco chips and some of those little muffin cup things, then tossed them in the cooker, waited half an hour and kazaam - I had made muffins.
It wasn’t really on my list before but it should have been. It’s a pretty basic thing to know and can win you a lot of friends. Muffins can also be used to barter: I traded my roommate six of them for a steak.
Wanted to give a big thanks to two guys at UNITED Airlines who really went out of their way to make sure we got home safely and on time. To James Reineck and John Kreslake in the San Francisco Airport, thanks so much for giving us a helping hand and going above and beyond the call of duty.
Hey everybody! We just got back from a journey to the centre of the earth and boy is it ever hot down there. No, I’m kidding of course. Oh man, could you imagine? The heat? Man. I bet it would be so hot.
But seriously. We’re looking for support for a friend in need. Our good friend Meagan, who some of you may remember from her MuchMusic fame, is on a quest to raise $50,000 for this year’s Becel Heart & Stroke Ride for Heart. It’s an ambitious goal to accomplish by June 1, but you know how much we love ambition round here. If you’d like to contribute send us a shout at crew@theburiedlife.com and we can connect you with Meagan.
You can also help by not buying foods with trans fats in them. Your grandkids will thank you.
