Yo!
Dave and I just got back from Pemberton Music Festival (Tom Petty, Jay-Z, Coldplay, Chromeo, MSTRKRFT, Tragically Hip) trying to cross off #37: Dance on Stage at a Major Concert, #85: Record a Track with Jay-Z and #94: Party with a Rockstar. 50,000 music fans on our home turf.. we were happy to be there.

Dave’s happy to be there

Security was so tight at this thing, they were double and triple checking passes. We spent the first two days pulling out all the stops trying to get backstage, onstage, into artist VIP… anywhere, but were continually denied, ungracefully.
Then, Ben got his hands on one of these puppies…

Jackpot!
All-access media pass. We won’t go into the details on how the golden ticket was obtained because I’ll probably be prosecuted in 40 out of 50 States (approx 8 out of 10 provinces). I enjoyed the complimentary Perrier and private washrooms in the media tent and asked the lead singer of Vampire Weekend for an interview before heading into the artists VIP area… we’re going to have to save the rest of the goods for video, too good to spoil now but my compliments to the chef who made the mini-burgers in the VIP tent, they were delicious.
Go to Pemberton next year, it was unreal.
(This close to getting on stage with N.E.R.D.)

The Buried Life is currently ‘on assignment’ (i.e. tenting) at the Pemberton Music Festival in an effort to cross of #50 on the list: Dance On Stage At a Major Concert. We’ve been working on this one for a long time with little success, but the fight continues!
We tried to do it at Coachella last year, which didn’t work, and came close to getting some backstage passes to Pemberon this year, but unfortunately those didn’t pan out either. So now, we’ve decided to just leave it up to chance. Either way, we’ve got a hell of a lineup to look forward too!

Hey Guys, I have now arrived back in Rwanda. In a 4 week project we are hoping to:
1. Reconstruct one full soccer field.
2. Distribute much needed equipment to soccer based organizations doing work in Rwanda.
3. Run a week long soccer camp for the children of the Rebero Orphanage.
The trip has been incredible so far. The soccer camp has just begun, and let me tell you, running a soccer camp in the heart of Kigali draws a lot of attention. I think film will paint a better picture, so stay tunned for a video. Here are a few pics in the mean time:

HELPING AFRICA:
A lot of you have been emailing us your lists as of late and ‘Aiding Africa’ has topped a lot of them. If you’re really interested in making a difference in Africa, Zimbabwe is on the verge of something terrible and needs your help. On The Genocide Report by Amnesty International, Zimbabwe is currently at Level 7.
From Facebook groups to organized protests something has to make the difference.
The west failed on Rwanda. Lets not fail again.
