“You know when I got involved in this whole Movember thing” Dave said from his reading chair in Victoria “it was to put some roughage on my top lip and raise awareness about a very important issue: Prostate Cancer. That’s what it was about for me.
This just in. After a slow start, Ben has taken some positive strides in his attempt to upset defending champion Dave Lingwood in the 2008 Mustache Competition. Fresh off the heels of a highly publicized rematch challenge, Ben arrived to the press conference confidently sporting some new growth and said smugly, ‘It ain’t over till the fat lady sings.’

Dave vs. Ben. Mustache vs. Mustache
As some of you may remember, Dave reigned supreme in the 2007 Battle of the Mustaches (as part of #14 on the list.. and Movember). Amid infighting this October, Ben demanded a rematch. Dave laughed at the challenge, but eventually accepted.

As the two were interviewed, it surfaced that Ben actually shaved by accident on the 3rd, not realizing the date. This would seem to be a blow to someone who already has the odds stacked against him but Ben quickly backpedaled, retorting that it was all part of his strategy.

Our friends Dave Hopkins wants to change the world. Having just graduated, Dave is already heading up the Youth Steering Comitte for the 2009 Beyond Sustainability Conference in Hawaii. This conference attracts one hundred and seventy-five educators, documentary filmmakers, scientists, NGO leaders, youth, environmentally conscious business leaders, government policy makers, and philanthropists to Hawaii’s Valcanoe National Park. Here they discuss and explore what it’s going to take to achieve global sustainability for future generations.
Dave also just finished co-authoring a book called Tactics of Hope. The book is a guide and inspiration to help you convert your passion into making a difference in the world. The website has a cool wheel thingy where you can drop in where you live and how you want to make a difference and it spits out nearby organizations that can assist you with your passion.
