In the days leading up to this years spring break I wasn’t feeling like myself. I was stressed out and as my friends were looking to drink, I was looking for something else. I found a round-trip ticket for $250 to Costa Rica and coincidently found an article about a mission helping an indigenous village survive.
The next thing I knew, I was carrying a 50lb. pack, a 15 ft. 2×4 on one shoulder and my video camera in the other hand as I trekked for 8 hours alongside a throng of volunteers to one of the most remote villages in Central America.

alan: the man, the legend
Spring has sprung, exams are done, and we are one major step closer to accomplishing #11 on the list: “Get a College Degree” (we’re all in school). Duncan and Ben have arrived in Colorado for the upcoming Beet Street Conference and excited to be there. Dave and I (Jonnie) will be joining them shortly.
It’s not too late to email us your list if you need some help getting an item done. Send us your list and a quick paragraph explaining which items are particularly important to you (and why) and we might come help you accomplish it! Email: crew@theburiedlife.com

What Do You Want To Do Before You Die?
We’d also like to congratulate our good friend Alan on crossing “Pond Skim” off his list. He tells us that he was one of 15 to make it across the pond in his home town of Mammoth, CA and that he did it, as you can above, in style. He also says we should consider putting in on our list, which I agree with.

beware the infamous buried life air squadron
Man some people are just so nice. We just got a message from a man in San Jose offering to take us flying in his plane. We’ve never met. We don’t have mutual friends. No family connection. Just someone wanting to help. Isn’t that nice?
Also in the news: we’re getting closer to the Beet Street Social Media Summit! All you Coloradians (is that how you say it?) send us your lists/stories and maybe we’ll show up on your doorstep and help you realize a life long dream! Our email is crew@theburiedlife.com
P.s. big thanks to everyone who offered tips to Rory. He’s on his way!

we’re off to the rockies!
Looks like the four of us will be flying down to Fort Collins to speak at the 2008 Beet Street Social Media Summit, Apr 24 - 26. There we’ll join Frank Warren and others using the internet to make a difference. Come join us!

If you, or anyone you know lives in Colorado, we’re looking for people to help. Send us your list and a quick blurb about which dream is most important to you and why, and we might come pick you up and get it done. Sent all messages to crew@theburiedlife.com
There’s a video montage too! Get yourself on the silver screen by checking out the Beet Street website.

TBL in the final frontier? Maybe next summer..
For those of you who don’t know by now, the ‘Virgle’ space program was a joke organized by the good people at Google and Virgin. We were just kidding about getting a call from them and were not actually invited to go to Mars. Thanks for your letters though, we’ll keep fighting for the real thing haha. -Jonnie
p.s. the best part of the day was getting a screaming call from Dave, who didn’t realize it was a joke.

ben and duncan longboarding behind the bus
No this isn’t a new picture. I wish! Soon though. The winter thaw has come and the four of us look happily on the approaching summer. It’s too soon to announce our plan for round three on the road, but rest assured that we have not yet given up on accomplishing each and every item on our list of 100 things to do before you die.
Some of you have been visiting the site for a while and we love to have you come. That said, we can’t be the only ones sharing tales of our successes. We want to know what’s been on your plate lately: new list items? New accomplishments? Tales of compassion? What’s going on for you? Send your story to crew@theburiedlife.com and maybe we’ll throw it up for the world to see! -Jonnie

dave is especially excited, as always

Hey everyone,
First of all, sorry for being inconsistent with our blog posts. We’ve been hunkered down in the editing room piecing together our updated/new trailer and there hasn’t been much to report except the fact that we’re really excited to show it to you.
Secondly, our site isn’t working properly. None of our links are linking like links are supposed to link (excuse my technical lingo).
All will be fixed soon,
